the memtest86+ also supports the x86 platform, and correctly displays chipset and hardware information of the newer boards and amd64 platform. maybe suse will consider to include this into their amd64 products like they have the older memtest86 3.0 on their suse linux 9.0 for x86 media.
Thanks, I'll forward this to the one responsible for memtest, Andreas Jaeger, aj@suse.de, http://www.suse.de/~aj
hmm just tested the suse 9.1 amd64bit dvd, and during bootup there is non memtest entry on the 64bit side. so it seems, as if memtest86+ didnt make it into suse 9.1 after all?
It made it in - but seems we forgot to enable it... Just use the 32-bit side ;-) Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger, aj@suse.de, http://www.suse.de/~aj SUSE Linux AG, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126
