Hello there, im having some difficulty with installing my suse9pro 64 bit edition on my dual opteron. Im using a tyan thunder k8s, and 2 opteron 240's. Im also using an adaptec 3200s, which seems to be causing the problem. When i boot into the installation program, the thing hangs on "loading kernel modules for hard disk controllers". So I booted into the manual installation, and tried to manually load the dpt_i20 driver. When i load it, i get a kernel panic with the message "unable to handle kernel paging request at address 'xxxxxx'". Then it continues to spew out code of some sort, then says "kernel panic, killing interrupt handler", and then "In interupt handler - not syncing". Then it does nothing, just hangs. Ive tried the usual scsi things that i normally do, eg "acpi=off" etc. But i cant find anything on this error in the usual places (this mailing list, the net)". The wierd thing is, if I load the same driver under 9.0 (not 64 bit version i mean) it works fine, detects my disks etc. So something in the v9-64 is broken! Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, Elf.
