DSL Modem

Hi I have a compaq 3240US laptop.I am running SuSe 9.1 64 bit on it. I am palning to get DSL connection so what modem should I buy so that I work. I am little bit disaapointed with my laptop since , modem , cardreader & the WiFi is not working. So at least DSL should work for me since then I can upgrade my system & hope that some of the device will work. Also I am having probel to dual boot XP. Generally in my desktop box I chain load XP even when it is on hda2. But in my laptop it is in hda1 but still can not chain load XP.
