Hello. Even the newest OpenSuSE 10.1 Alpha4 seems to have problems with the ASUS A8N-VM CSM mainboard and the SATA drives. As soon as APIC descriptor is added to ACPI tables (set in BIOS, I need it to run 64-bit windows xp) the SATA drive hands during linux boot. Syslog says that the command timeout occurs. When I however disable APIC descriptor, linux seems to work almost well. The only nerving thing is the following message from kernel: Bad page state at free_hot_cold_page (in process 'knotify', page ffff8100015df748) flags:0x4000000000000414 mapping:0000000000000000 mapcount:0 count:0 Backtrace: Call Trace:<ffffffff8015c571>{bad_page+113} <ffffffff8015c917>{free_hot_cold_page+119} <ffffffff80166e3e>{unmap_vmas+1118} <ffffffff801697bd>{unmap_region+173} <ffffffff8016ab28>{do_munmap+568} <ffffffff8017880c>{__fput+332} <ffffffff8016af22>{sys_munmap+82} <ffffffff8010e94a>{system_call+126} Trying to fix it up, but a reboot is needed Any hint how can I make SATA stable when the APIC descriptor in ACPI tables is activated? -- Telefonieren Sie schon oder sparen Sie noch?
