Hi, i bootet my system now wiht the install-disk (manuell-install-load system). I get the error-message FATAL module dm_mod not loaded. I downgraded the kernel to 2.6.10 an there ist still the same message. In lib/modules/drivers/dm is the modul dm-mod.ko. When i tried to modprobe dm-mod.ko, the error was module dm_mod not found. The message of Kernelpanic was Kernelpanic not syncing. Attempt to kill init. It seem, the dm-module gets not loadet. I have all packages via synaptic updated, so them have to be the latest. Hi, i have the latest related packages via Synaptic installed. I tried added ide-disk, ide-core and via82cxxx to /etc/sysconfig/kernel and got still the same message. The last messages are:
Did you really install the mkinitd package from the same place you get the kernel from?

in my original /etc/sysconfig/kernel was the module sata-via loaded. I tried to boot with this module and without it, always the same result.
No, the issue is the initial ram disk.
I installed allways the latest kernel of the day and this error appeared the first time.
How can i make my system boot?
for now downgrade again or update mkinitrd,
Andreas
Thank you

You need the latest mkinitrd as well, there should have been a message that you ignored...
