Hello, as an owner of the Tyan S2882UNGR motherboard with the Adaptec 7920 chipset equipped with the 2120S zero channel RAID adaptor. I've noticed that none of
AFAIK the 2120S works. Can you test with the kernel from ftp.suse.com/pub/people/aj/Kernel-AMD64, please?
the current AMD64 Linux packages from any distro seem to support the adapter including SUSE Enterprise server 8.2 beta9. (while the 32bit version recognized
8.2 is SuSE Linux, not the enterprise server.
it no problem)
I would love to purchase version 9.0 of the Enterprise server if it does support the SCSI raid adaptor. Had anyone tested this controller with version 9?
Thank you for your time.
I haven't done any testing myself, but according to a friend of mine, their experiences working with MySQL under Opteron is that the 64 bit version yeilds about 30% to 40% performance increase.
That sounds impressive - but it might vary with the workload or benchmark, Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger, aj@suse.de, http://www.suse.de/~aj SuSE Linux AG, Deutschherrnstr. 15-19, 90429 Nürnberg, Germany GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126
