Once again when I clicked on log off the only choice I was given was "end session". I had no choice but to accept this. Now I find myself right back at that inescapable gray screen.

I had a simular problem when I installed 9.3. It was several months ago and I don't remember how I fixed it but it was something quick. In the file /etc/sysconfig/windowmanager, whats the value of the variable DEFAULT_WM? It probably should be "kde". Mark
