Emachines m6805

Has anyone had any luck installed SuSE 9 64-bit on the eMachines m6805? I was unable to get installed SuSE 9 Pro installed. It ran through the initial stage ok but on reboot it was extremely slow and refused to bind an IP. Before I plunk down the $ on the 64-bit version Id like to now if I should expect the same results. At this time the only dist. I could get installed trouble free was Fedora. Thanks for any help Mike Katz
