How does a person "add nomodeset to the install kernel (ATI graphics) to be able to install"? What is the step-by-step procedure for a somewhat experienced Windows user, but a Linux newbie to do this? Thanks everyone, so far!
Just start typing at the boot menu screen. You will see it on the line below the boot choices. It will be appended to the other boot options. It does seem to fit the scenario, as all my problems with this scenario were also ATI graphics. This is just an initial boot fix for installation. After the install the norm would probably be to add the ATI repository and install the fglrx graphics driver. At least that is what I did. I cannot remember if that means the problem is in the radeon driver or radeonhd (I believe hd), and since I always added the fglrx driver, it works fine after install. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-amd64+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-amd64+owner@opensuse.org
