Hi I have the same laptop Compaq 3240US. SuSe 9.1 and 92. worked fine on it. Currently running 9.2 still too lazy to upggrade. I faced no Hardware problem except one day find that red ants made nest under the key board. Faced the 32 bit Flash and real player problem with 64 bit Firefox.
