It is working now beautifully! All I had to do was get the new 6111 driver for amd64 from nvidia. Speaking of 9.2... I'd like to use the extra functionality of the synaptic driver for the (APS) touchpad. I saw in the comment from .config file that there are patches to make work with 9.1. Looks too complicated for me. I decided to wait until 9.2 because I believe that kernel 2.6.8 will allow that to work. Do you know if SuSE is going to enable that? Well,
I got the HP zv5000 and LOVE IT!
I was able to get SuSE 9.1 on it without too much trouble.
Got the nvidia driver working and the widescreen (1280x800) resolution running.
I know the boadcom wireless isn't going to work until 9.2 (hint hint hint).
I am only having one problem and have one request
The problem I'm having is that once X has loaded, I cannot ever get back to a console, virtual or otherwise. I mean I can get to it, I just can't see it. The screen is messed up.
Known problem with that laptop - SUSE Linux 9.2 will have a fix for the X server bug,
