Hi, I've got an HP NX6125 notebook (Turion64 ML-34, ATI chipset, SuSE 10 AMD64, 2.6.13-15.8-default). The machine works well, except suspend and some powersaved related stuff. With the latest kernel, I get the following kind of messages: Feb 12 16:05:57 farkas [powersave]: DIAG (handleHWEventRequest:129) ACPI Event: 'processor C000 00000080 00000000' ignore buttons: no Feb 12 16:05:57 farkas [powersave]: DIAG (handleHWEventRequest:256) unassigned HW event, using [other]. type 'processor' dev_name 'C000' port '00000080' count '00000000' Feb 12 16:06:30 farkas kernel: APIC error on CPU0: 40(40) Feb 12 16:14:34 farkas kernel: APIC error on CPU0: 40(40) Feb 12 16:17:40 farkas [powersave]: DIAG (handleHWEventRequest:129) ACPI Event: 'processor C000 00000080 00000002' ignore buttons: no Feb 12 16:17:40 farkas [powersave]: DIAG (handleHWEventRequest:256) unassigned HW event, using [other]. type 'processor' dev_name 'C000' port '00000080' count '00000002' Feb 12 16:17:40 farkas [powersave]: DIAG (handleHWEventRequest:129) ACPI Event: 'processor C000 00000080 00000000' ignore buttons: no Feb 12 16:17:40 farkas [powersave]: DIAG (handleHWEventRequest:256) unassigned HW event, using [other]. type 'processor' dev_name 'C000' port '00000080' count '00000000' Feb 12 16:17:41 farkas [powersave]: DIAG (handleHWEventRequest:129) ACPI Event: 'processor C000 00000080 00000002' ignore buttons: no Feb 12 16:17:41 farkas [powersave]: DIAG (handleHWEventRequest:256) unassigned HW event, using [other]. type 'processor' dev_name 'C000' port '00000080' count '00000002' Feb 12 16:17:41 farkas [powersave]: DIAG (handleHWEventRequest:129) ACPI Event: 'processor C000 00000080 00000000' ignore buttons: no Feb 12 16:17:41 farkas [powersave]: DIAG (handleHWEventRequest:256) unassigned HW event, using [other]. type 'processor' dev_name 'C000' port '00000080' count '00000000' Feb 12 16:17:41 farkas [powersave]: DIAG (handleHWEventRequest:129) ACPI Event: 'processor C000 00000080 00000002' ignore buttons: no Feb 12 16:17:41 farkas [powersave]: DIAG (handleHWEventRequest:256) unassigned HW event, using [other]. type 'processor' dev_name 'C000' port '00000080' count '00000002' Feb 12 16:17:41 farkas [powersave]: DIAG (handleHWEventRequest:129) ACPI Event: 'processor C000 00000080 00000000' ignore buttons: no Feb 12 16:17:41 farkas [powersave]: DIAG (handleHWEventRequest:256) unassigned HW event, using [other]. type 'processor' dev_name 'C000' port '00000080' count '00000000' In general, powersave is not stable on the machine, It does not poll the temperature automatically, turns on fans (if the temperature is high enough) only if the temeperature is read manually eg. via powersave -T. Sometimes it cannot even turn on the fans. Otherwise, the setup seems to be fine: # powersave -T Thermal Device no. 0: Temperature: 32 Critical: 100 Passive: 60 Thermal Device no. 1: Temperature: 57 Critical: 100 Passive: 90 Thermal Device no. 2: Temperature: 51 Critical: 95 Passive: 88 Active 0: 80 Active 1: 75 Active 2: 65 Active 3: 58 There are 4 reported fans: # ls /proc/acpi/fan/ . .. C260 C261 C262 C263 # cat /proc/acpi/fan/C26?/* status: off status: off status: off status: off Is there any way to make powesaved doing a better job? Thanks!
