openSUSE 11.4 is coming soon, time to plan Launch Parties.
Guys, We are about a month away from releasing openSUSE 11.4. Time to start thinking about planning a Launch Party for openSUSE 11.4. Launch Party If you are planning to have a launch party, I have set up a page on the wiki for you to post your launch party. I will also update with the e-mail address of whom to contact to for DVD and Material. I am still setting up the page, but welcome anyone from the Ambassadors Welcoming Team to help make edits. I am planning to add links to some posters that people can print, art that can you use to promote the event. Note that launch parties aren't limited to the release date! Feel free to plan a launch party for the week after or even a month after! The Link is here for you to add your event. http://en.opensuse.org/Events:11.4_Launch_Party I would also ask that if you are planning an event to send an e-mail to the marketing mail list to let them know. Promote your event If you are on Facebook, have blog, or member local linux group. Get the word out. We will try to help you promote the site on Facebook and Twitter. If there is a social media what we missed let us know, we want to help promote your event. Because if you are successful, we are successful. Some new to help. I have set up an account on twitter called SUSEAmbassadors. This tweet account was set up to help promote the openSUSE ambassadors, kinda of openSUSE "Event Announcement" and "News" channel about the ambassadors are doing for openSUSE. I will be taking Launch Parties that are tweeting the events time and date to help promote. If you haven't ask to follow SUSEAmbassadors, please do so. To the Ambassadors Welcoming Team, please contact me so we can set up the account on co-tweet so that we can get the word out. I know that many English is not your first language so I like to ask on the tweets if possible that we can get two from you. One in English and one in your native tongue. I also like to ask, if you have a fellow ambassador on your Facebook or twitter account that you share their event to help them promote it. We will try to set up the "Launch Parties" as events on the two openSUSE pages. Keep in mind that more we can get the word out about your and others event and the fact that openSUSE 11.4 is coming out. The more successful we will be. More news will come. We will need all the ambassadors to help on March 10th to get the word out. So please stay tune for more news. -- ----------------------------------------- Discover it! Enjoy it! Here in Greece now-days is the hottest subject on the Mailing list and not only, for the moment we are planning 4 parties around Greece but we will announce them once everything is set-up(exact dates and places). We hope we will announce the first 2 before the end of the next week. We will talk about everything else in private. It's great that you decided to make all that, I think it came the right time.
