Hey Ambassadors 20 days left for 12.1 to be released and once again we have the greatest Linux distribution to deliver to the world. openSUSE did the best for us so it is once again the time to ask ourselves, what can we do for openSUSE? Are you excited?
Yes. I tried the beta, and I'm very happy to install this version on my 2 PC.
Do you feel ready to go out there and evangelize our next release?
Yes.
Do you know about the up-coming features of 12.1?
Yes.
Have you blogged or wrote an article about it? Give us a link
For the moment only this
http://axjslack.wordpress.com/2011/08/03/testando-opensuse-12-1-milestone-3/
But, when will be out the 12.1 release, we will post something on the FSUGItalia website.
Did you started preparations for a Release Party?
Not exactally. With the other Italian Ambassador we would like to prepare something different, but we need of some resource.
What kind of resource? Is there anything I could do to help you on that?
Do you have any fresh ideas we could work on?
No, but I would like to try to find something new.
Like? Let us know what are you thinking ;-)
Do you have any problems or difficulties we can talk about?
No. We talk about Opensuse during the "Linux Day" in Milan without any problems.
We are preparing for Google Code-In(http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:GCI), you can contribute there too(http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:GCI_Tasks), either by submitting an idea or by becoming mentor to one of the tasks, what do you think?
I would like, but I think that I am not smart enough.
Don't underestimate yourself, it is not that difficult , all you need actually is time ;-)
Can you help? What are your plans? Let everybody know
I hope that in a near future I will be able to work on this http://en.opensuse.org/Portal:ARM
Wow ;-) Technical stuff
Let's Be Creative Let's Share Thoughts Let's Talk
What better time than now? What better place than here?
Rock on and Have Fun with openSUSE Kostas 'Warlordfff' Koudaras
openSUSE 12.1 it's fantastic distro, may be the best GNU/Linux experience that I ever had.
+1 on that, mine too.
Alexjan.

What kind of resource? Is there anything I could do to help you on that?
With Marina and some from Free Software User Group Italia, we are working to make an exposition about openSUSE on a big and important Italian Electronics fair (about 20000 people of public). We have already experienced this two years ago with Fedora, and it was a great success. To do this, we need of some people, for 3 days (2 night) and to make a long car trip. The volunteers are "for free", and we already have, but money are needed for but need money to organize the trip, food and accommodation for volunteers. In addition we would need handouts (flyers, DVDs, stickers) and maybe some openSUSE t-shirt for the volunteers. It's a big project, and will be not easy to find resources. [...]

I'm on it, but for the moment it's to soon to explain. [...]

There is a budget for this. For now, send me a mail with what you want to do, how much money you need etcetera. I can at best re-imburse 80% of the travel and hotel costs but that should be very helpful I suppose! We (kostas, izabel, aj, me) are working on a better way of handling that budget btw :D
In addition we would need handouts (flyers, DVDs, stickers) and maybe some openSUSE t-shirt for the volunteers.
You can get the flyers and such by asking AJ via software.opensuse.org/promodvd :D
It's a big project, and will be not easy to find resources.
Sounds ambitious but very cool!
