Hi It started like a proposal but all things show that the openSUSE Mentoring Program will continue since (almost) everyone thought it was a good idea and the responses were good. Now in the ambassadors collaboration day many of you showed interest about it and new users I've talked saw it as something it could help them. So what we need first is to Start a document about "How to be an Ambassador mentor" and of course some people to volunteer for mentors. I know many people who would be the right for this job but they have to be the ones to offer themselves. So let's do some work, who has any proposals about what should have someone to become a mentor please mention it so that we can put some specifications so that we will all be sure that the mentors will actually help new users. Also people who think that are capable to become mentors please sign in for it, also help is needed to create the whole Mentor thing in the wiki, so anyone that could help it would be Great. Hello,
I couldn't participate on Monday. I hope you discuss it then. Personally I would like to become mentor and also help the team you mentioned Kostas. I'll be waiting for others.
Have lot of fun! Stathis
My proposal is to start a discussion about it. Someone should lead the discussion and when the programs actually starts to lead the program too. Under my opinion it should be an active member of the community, with a relatively knowledge on the subject. For me since he was one of those who helped me in my first steps as an ambassador the best man for the Job is Chuck Payne or else known as Terropup.Let me know what do you think about it.

Before we appoint someone for the job, we should first do the following:
* What should he do? * Create the document "How to be an Ambassador mentor" * Job description of the "Projectleader"
Just ask anyone who wants to do the job does not help.

What I was just wondering:
We are just about 100 Ambassadors. Do we really need mentors? Most know each other. Ask if there is, you can contact the mailing list or IRC. Everyone can see and answer the questions. We are only a few people. I think it is better to make a open communication, as the new ambassador to bind to a person. Otherwise, everything falls apart in small groups of people and no longer speaks with the others.
