Hi all!
From Saturday 12th to Sunday 13th January 2013 has took place our second partecipation to Cerea's fair (VR) in Italy. I and other members of FSUGItalia have participated at the fair in Cerea (Verona) presenting openSUSE to the public.
We must start by saying that, as in the past edition, the fair has been a great success, big participation and queues with about 20000 visitors.
The organization of the fair has given us a great place, a six linear meters booth in front of the main entrance!
We have set up the stand with 6 notebooks, 3 netbooks, 1 "ST SPEAr320 evaluation board" and 1 "ST-Ericsson Snowball board" equipped with openSUSE 12.2 configured with different desktop manager.
A large number of people came to ask us about what openSUSE is. The computers exhibited have attracted the attention of passers, that, in many cases, were familiar only to Ubuntu.
Most frequent question was inherent to the differences between Ubuntu and openSUSE and what are the advantages of this second operating system.
An event with such a big audience is definitely challenging and very tiring but we have got a great success that has rewarded us for all the efforts made to achieve this participation. The enthusiasm and interest of the people involved also the organizers, that have proposed to participate to the next edition of this fair.
Here http://denebinside.wordpress.com/2013/01/23/report-fiera-di-cerea-2013/ you can find the report (Italian/English) of Cerea's Fair (Italy). Other useful informations are reachable here: https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Cerea_Fair_2013
We are editing a video and uploading a photo gallery; as soon as possible all the materials will be online.
Wonderful report, Marina! We've already found the blog and saw the pics ;-) It's really motivating for us to see how much you do with our materials. Any suggestions on improvements, both in our digital materials (artwork, talking points, ready-made presentations etc) as well as our physical materials would be appreciated. I also would like to ask you to consider joining our marketing and artwork sprint next month via the google hangout - I will send a mail about this event to the list sometime next week, but you can already see the wiki here: https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:12.3_marketing_hackathon Your input would be really appreciated. Ambassador Team, you're listening, right? Cheers, Jos
Regards, deneb
