PromoDVDs of openSUSE 11.4 will soon be available. *snipped*
If you're interested in handling PromoDVDs for your region, please speak up.
Till now, I've been handing out the downloaded DVD, which looks a bit unpleasant, especially without a label. So it would probably make more sense asking for the promoDVD. However, if I understand correctly, due to the space taken out by the live images, the promoDVD has fewer packages than the DVD download. With high bandwidth in this part of the world, anyone can really download extra packages as needed. However in many places, India, for example, that is difficult, as well as costly. So if it was possible to supply Ambassadors/Marketing with the option of promoDVD or normal DVD, to use as they deem fit, or a combination of both, maybe people could be helped better. A typical person who'd prefer a larger software collection to a live image, would be the computer science high school or college freshman, who is interested enough in openSUSE to install it, but has limited bandwidth available to spend on downloads. Also FOSS events with ex openSUSErs who want back in. My personal requirement I'll send off-list with my mailing address.
Andreas
