Thanks. I'm in Australia too, BTW :) just at the southern tip in Tasmania, and I'm not sure when I'll be in Brisbane again...

Yeah Brisbane is miles and miles away from me too, and I'm really a writer, not a talker. Though I hope to brush up my tech skills so I can make a useful presence at LCA 2012 if required (though with a title like 'senior clustering engineer' you're looking like the man for the job, Tim!)
:)
I expect I'll be putting in a submission for a talk (presumably in my general area of expertise, being something high availability related). Happy to rattle on about openSUSE stuff too, of course. We should try to get a stand at open day again, and I think it'd be worth paying some level of sponsorship for name visibility, but that's probably Jos' department :) Other possibilities include trying for a miniconf, but I don't know if that'd fly - I think these have always tended to be more broad than distro-specific, e.g.: Arduino, sysadmin, programming languages. We could definitely do an openSUSE BOF session though.
We should definitely keep in touch and look to getting a strong Aussie presence going.
I signed up with Linux Australia last year. http://www.linux.org.au/
What would be the best way to keep communication open with Aussie geekos? Email with cc or one of the lists? I'm sure there are more of us so we want to have an idea of 'who's who', build a contact list somewhere.
Good question. I know, or know of, a handful of happy local openSUSE users of some description. Not exactly sure how to locate more (not sure I want to spam, e.g.: linux-aus canvassing for people...) We have various language specific opensuse lists (-cz, -ja, etc.), but I don't think there's country-specific ones. Should there be?
