Hey Drew, Thank you for your (Chuck's and everyone's) efforts to pull all this together.
Thanks you so much for that very detailed and clear reply. So, according to Andi, it looks like we wont have any shirts for SCALE this year. I spoke with Stephen Shaw yesterday and he said he will talk to someone at SUSE for me and see what they can get together in the way of swag. I have not spoken with him yet this morning but I am sure he and I will talk later and I will update on the mailing list.
I don't have any openSUSE labeled SWAG. I have gathered about 70 SUSE shirts and a bunch of compact LED flashlights. Not enough to hand out to all attendees so think about how best to decide who and how to hand these out.
As far as the backdrop goes... I didn't even think about that! I will try to find out more about the status on that from Alan. I guess if we have to do without it it's not really much of an issue, however I do think it would be a nice touch to have it.
I can grab the openSUSE backdrop. How large is the booth? We need at least 8 feet. Stephen and I were discussing the Kiosk. Should we bring that as well? It's a great way to show the flexibility of openSUSE and it is amazing how it draws people to the booth - much more than a regular computer monitor. (I'll need to look into the feasibility for shipping) Did we get wired internet with the booth or just wireless? (If we bring the kiosk, I have a some USB sticks that we can use to burn peoples custom images) Last year we also had the "What's cool with openSUSE" poster and flyers. Do we have an updated flyer that we could print and handout?
Above ALL, I want to make sure we can get plenty of promo DVD's to give out. I am VERY proud of 12.1 and am looking forward to sharing it
We just received the shipment of 12.1 DVDs in Provo. I'll grab 300? of those.
with interested people at the event. I know I am not the only one who feels that way and, it seems like we are going to have a great group of people at SCALE this year... I have a feeling that last years investment into SCALE will continue to pay off.
I'm very confused about who's going to be helping this year. I'm sure part of the confusion is on my part - suseROCKS helped me realize today that I wasn't on the ambassador mail list though I thought I was. Guess I should ask if you need/want my help as well - I'd love to come join the fun, but don't want to get in the way. May I also propose that you begin some type of 'sign-up sheet' so that the booth duties can be spread around? We'd all like to plan to attend some sessions. regards, Alan Clark -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-ambassadors+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-ambassadors+owner@opensuse.org
