Hi all! What is the DRI status for the RS690 chips? Is it supposed to be supported?
In the Xorg.0.log (Ubuntu) I get the following error: (II) RADEONHD(0): Found libdri 5.4.0. drmOpenDevice: node name is /dev/dri/card0 drmOpenByBusid: Searching for BusID pci:0000:01:05.0 drmOpenDevice: node name is /dev/dri/card0 drmOpenByBusid: drmOpenMinor returns -1 ... # lots of similar lines ... (EE) RADEONHD(0): RHDDRIVersionCheck: drmOpen("radeon", "pci:0000:01:05.0") failed. (WW) RADEONHD(0): RHDDRIPreInit: Version check failed. Disabling DRI.
There is no difference between Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex (radeonhd from git, 64 bits) and Jaunty Jackalope (32 bits).
but the xserver, libdrm may be to new ...
I also tested openSuse 11.1 (64 bits) and DRI is not working, but the error reported in the log is different: (II) AIGLX: Screen 0 is not DRI capable
a few lines above, you will see: (II) RADEONHD(0): Direct rendering turned off by default. Use Option "DRI" to enable. try using Option "DRI" "on" (don't know why Option "DRI" doen't work, maybe you forgot it?). Marc
From the wiki (http://www.x.org/wiki/radeonhd:DRI) I read: "Please also note that there is no DRI support for r6xx based cards yet! RS6xx cards are not r6xx and are supported."
Please note that the radeon driver was not more successful on my machine in getting DRI to work.
regards, Antoine
