I got this message in my Xorg.0.log, so I write to you ;) (**) RADEONHD(0): Option "HPD" "off" (WW) RADEONHD(0): !!! Option HPD is set !!! This shall only be used to work around broken connector tables. Please report your findings to radeonhd@opensuse.org (II) RADEONHD(0): Unknown card detected: 0x9588:0x174B:0xE420. If - and only if - your card does not work or does not work optimally please contact radeonhd@opensuse.org to help rectify this. Use the subject: 0x9588:0x174B:0xE420: <name of board>. (--) RADEONHD(0): Detected an RV630 on an unidentified card If I don't set HPD off, I don't get randr to work properly. The highest resolution is then 1024x768. Setting this option allows me to change the mode up to 1920x1440, as xrandr shows me. I said intentionally "allows me to CHANGE", because if I set the resolution using Option "PreferredMode" "1600x1200" the Xorg-server crashes and I don't get my text terminal back until I reboot. So I change the resolution using Gnome system settings or xrandr. My system is: FreeBSD 7.0-RELEASE I attached xorg.conf and Xorg.0.log for you. I hope it helps. Keep the good work, please! -- Martin
