Is there a application that will generate mp3 files as I used to? K3b generated .ogg files. Can .ogg files be used interchangeably with mp3 formates files? You need to play around with it before rushing to post. K3B will rip to any format for which you have plug ins installed.
Where do you get the plug-ins?
I just go into Yast key in k3b and click search. Make sure you have the Packman repository checked.
Check each thing In the Plugins tab of K3e Configuration. Step to Programs in the K3B config.
(You only need the upper one of each group, so for cdrdao you only need check /usr/bin/cdrdao, NOT /usr/bin/X11/cdrdao
If you want full capabilities, make sure one of each is found. For instance I wanted to stall "normalize" I Open Yast in another window, search and install normalize click back to k3B, click refresh, rinse and repeat.
I went to the "Official guide to openSuse Leap 42.1", section 13, which is multimedia codecs, and chose the installation with one click option. Somehow, either with these codecs or installation of grip, I corrupted something. Now when I run k3b I receive an error message that states "System locale charset is ANSI_X3.4-1968" which it claims "is highly unlikely that this has been done intentionally." Can anybody suggest which file this decision is maintained in, and what it should be for USA? I assume 8 bit.
