I filed a bug bnc#833498 , but in my case there were no -doc packages
As maintainer of TeXLive I had been told that asymptote requires freeglut development environment to be fully usable. Guess: this is required to link output of asymptote with freeglut library.
- freeglut-devel is needed by (installed) texlive-asymptote-2012.67.2.21svn29349-4.6.1.noarch - texlive-asymptote >= 2012 is needed by (installed) texlive-collection-binextra-2012.67.svn25648-4.5.1.noarch - texlive-collection-binextra >= 2012 is needed by (installed) texlive-scheme-medium-2012.67.svn18615-4.5.1.noarch After removing those three packages, most of the other -devel packages could be deinstalled without moaning from rpm. Except for xorg-x11-proto-devel is needed by (installed) font-util-1.3.0-4.1.1.x86_64 so that I also removed font-util. I consider using http://www.tug.org/texlive/acquire-netinstall.html rather than the texlive packages from openSUSE, especially when they bring along dozens of unnecessary devel packages with their patches.
