I use the following script. When I dock, I run 'dtop work'. Before I undock, I run 'dtop leave'.
I recently modified it to turn off the second display during leave.
You'll have to modify the script to specify where your second monitor is attached. You can find this info out with 'xrandr -q'.
Thanks for your input. I tried some things with your info, but I still don't get any image via the displayport output. I was wondering if the DP-cable or the DP-input of the monitor were broken, so I tried a VGA-cable. That works, I have an image and I can manage settings with the monitor-setup-software. Back in Ubuntu on the same laptop, I can have an image via the displayport, so cable and monitor are OK. Any other suggestions ?
