Hi,
I have a machine set up with opensuse 11.3. The uptime is now 10 days but I see that nearly all computing processes are slow.
For example one process that uses no I/O and does not wait but heavily computes on some data already read in only consumes 2% of the cpus.
Did anyone see similar problems?
Christoph
Hi, here is the output of top sorted by memory consumption. All the chipbench processes are cpu-bound. I wonder why 160 GB are cached while 56 GB from the processes are in swap. top - 09:04:53 up 10 days, 18:03, 4 users, load average: 15.94, 16.18, 15.97 Tasks: 269 total, 1 running, 268 sleeping, 0 stopped, 0 zombie Cpu(s): 0.2%us, 0.2%sy, 0.0%ni, 25.7%id, 73.9%wa, 0.0%hi, 0.0%si, 0.0%st Mem: 193841M total, 192893M used, 947M free, 0M buffers Swap: 204797M total, 56381M used, 148416M free, 160889M cached PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND 28845 bartosch 20 0 10.9g 9.4g 1764 D 0 5.0 27:49.48 chipbench 19459 joachimi 20 0 23.5g 9.0g 2396 S 1 4.8 398:52.96 bonnRoute 9329 bartosch 20 0 8840m 7.6g 19m D 0 4.0 26:36.27 chipbench 6505 bartosch 20 0 10.7g 3.4g 1808 D 0 1.8 289:06.75 chipbench 11061 bartosch 20 0 9.8g 1.4g 960 D 0 0.7 145:55.91 chipbench 10946 bartosch 20 0 5952m 1.3g 1052 D 0 0.7 80:45.90 chipbench 11010 bartosch 20 0 5638m 1.3g 1016 D 0 0.7 82:34.02 chipbench 11030 bartosch 20 0 9807m 1.2g 4008 D 0 0.6 148:15.92 chipbench 10976 bartosch 20 0 5563m 1.2g 992 D 0 0.6 77:42.31 chipbench 18806 bartosch 20 0 99.0m 26m 608 S 0 0.0 0:22.19 chipbench 17065 bartosch 20 0 99.0m 10m 628 S 0 0.0 0:27.40 chipbench 28325 bartosch 20 0 99.0m 7388 628 S 0 0.0 0:25.05 chipbench 9330 bartosch 20 0 66488 7040 828 S 0 0.0 0:17.64 chipbench 28846 bartosch 20 0 66488 6636 660 S 0 0.0 0:19.38 chipbench 6508 bartosch 20 0 74700 5676 532 S 0 0.0 0:32.30 chipbench -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
