Hence the question. Is Nepomuk a package? Or is it a service provided by companion packages such as Akonadi or Strigi (or something else)?
No, you can find that by searching in YaST for nepomuk with "what provides" enabled and disabled. It is part of kdebase I think.
And whatever it is, how do I silence it?
