What am I missing here? I use procmail rules to filter and sort messages into specific folders according to subject and source as well as the results of spamassassin.
That implies using fetchmail to download the mail, doesn't it?
What is it I'm doing that Philipp says procmail can't do?
I don't want to download tons of mails from high volume mailing lists such as opensuse-*, the GCC mainling lists or the boost ml (just to name a few) to my smartphone because a) I have a 200 MiB limit before throttling to 64 kib and b) because I find smartphones awkward for writing emails. So I have to do the sorting on my providers server and that means creating sieve filters. Now a bit clearer?
