I finally got OOo 3.2.0.7 installed by the following steps:

(a) removed all OOo 3.1 packages through Yast
(b) bumped up the 3.2.0.7 repo to priority 1
(c) downgraded the "standard" OSS repo to 2
(d) refreshed all repos
(e) searched for openoffice and voila the 3.2.0.7 packages were present.
(f) selected the required packages and let Yast resolve all dependencies
(g) OOo build 3.2.0.7 is now installed on my desktop system :)
