You do have, Fred. Just not the type/format that you had. It has been called the *hard* way, but is only a download and a commandline execution of a script which requires several yes or no answers to questions. Really difficult.
Maybe a better answer, nvidia is not part of openSUSE, but a convenience that (iiuc) Novell provided in collusion with nVidia.
I have a feeling that Fred is looking for something which can be automatically done on each of the computers he works on.
For me, with just the 2-3 computers to look after, downloading a copy of the nVidia driver from the nVidia site is not a problem, but to Fred I suspect doing so, in order to be able to install and compile the driver on (?)>3 computers, would be a pain.
You have NO idea what it is to work on systems and meet deadlines. But, that's not my concern. My concern is that openSUSE CAN'T be THE Linux disto....THE "easiest to install, setup, and use" for those who we NEED - read that MUST - have use it....present MickySoft users, when there are impediments to getting drivers installed. MANY have made the point before, and I will again. If Ubuntu 9.1 and other distros. make it easy, so can openSUSE. Fred -- A REVOLUTIONARY IDEA!
