[opensuse] How to run VMPlayer using a regular user account?

Hi, I'm trying to run vmware's vmplayer using a regular user account, but did not succeed. When I try it, vmplayer says it needs to compile some kernel modules (though they were already compiled for the current kernel). It asks for the root password, which is given, and then it fails with the following message: modinfo: could not open /lib/modules/2.6.27.19-3.2-pae/modules.dep I can run it ok using the root account, however.
