Hi David, your problem is normally caused by a mirror that hasn't got the file, the only way to find out which mirror is with wireshark or something that logs the actual mirror connection process. Regards Dave P
Dave,
Thanks. I hope that it is just a mirror issue. It just seems really strange that I have experienced this problem repeatedly over the past two or three days. It it is a server issue, they usually clear up in 3-4 hours, but for some reason I keep getting install failures. Maybe I'm just lucky??
I'll continue to keep a watch on it and report back. Nothing like a simple 5 minutes file install that turns into a 5 hour investigation....
I've had the problem before where the broken mirror is repeatedly selected after retry, its most probably a local mirror. If you select a specific good mirror for your repo you should be able to complete the install. Regards Dave P
Of course 10 minutes later: 10:04 bonza/etc/zypp/repos.d> sudo zypper ref oss Refreshing 'oss' * Building repository 'oss' cache Specified repositories have been refreshed. I am indeed the lucky one! I get repo failures 80% of the time. Is there something that needs to be tweaked in the mirror referral logic to cut down on the number of failures? -- David C.
