Hi David, your problem is normally caused by a mirror that hasn't got the file, the only way to find out which mirror is with wireshark or something that logs the actual mirror connection process. Dave, Thanks. I hope that it is just a mirror issue. It just seems really strange that I have experienced this problem repeatedly over the past two or three days. It it is a server issue, they usually clear up in 3-4 hours, but for some reason I keep getting install failures. Maybe I'm just lucky?? I'll continue to keep a watch on it and report back. Nothing like a simple 5 minutes file install that turns into a 5 hour investigation.... -- David C. I've had the problem before where the broken mirror is repeatedly selected after retry, its most probably a local mirror. If you select a specific good mirror for your repo you should be able to complete the install. Hi David, could it be related to a similar problem I had. See: "Re: [opensuse] Repos for 10.3 gone on mirrors and download.opensuse.org?", (18/11/2008) which became: Re: [opensuse] Resolution problem SOLVED [Was: Repos for 10.3 gone on mirrors and download.opensuse.org?] My solution involved a resolution problem by a hosts entry for 127.0.0.2 inserted by YaST. Not sure why it is needed, but its removal helped my resolution problem; and update problem also. On other systems the hosts entry 127.0.0.2 does not seem to cause the same problem. :-) Al -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
