Hi, how can I add an additional static IP-Address to my network interface (next to the one I get from DHCP) if I am in a specific network? Currently I do the following: When I go to work I connect my laptop to the network and then I get an IP-Address. Then I become root and add an address via ifconfig eth0:1. After about 10 minutes the network subsystem decided to reinitialize itself and eth0:1 vanishes. I add the address for eth0:1 again. The setup is now stable for the whole day. Now I want to configure the network subsystem such that each time I am in the network at work next to the DHCP address a second static one is configured. How is this possible?
