Hi all. I have 2 machines running 10.3/kde 3.5.7/compiz 0.7.6. The desktop machine runs an Nvidia card with the binary drivers; the laptop has on board Intel 855GM video with the appropriate drivers. Compiz works fine on both machines, but won't auto-start on either. When I first installed compiz, if compiz-manager was running when kde was shut down then it would be automatically restarted when kde started up. Some time in the last few months this has stopped working (unfortunately I don't know exactly which update broke it). Other apps do auto-restart when kde is restarted - compiz appears to be the only one that doesn't. I've tried running it from the compiz-fusion-icon as well as via a shell using 'compiz-manager --replace &' but it still makes no difference. Also (and I'm not sure if this is related), I have emerald set as the window decorator but it doesn't load when compiz starts up. I have to manually select the kde window decorator, then re-select emerald and all is fine. This is frustrating mainly because it used to "just work". Has anyone else come across this? Any hints on where to start looking will be gratefully appreciated.
