I think by "hitting on" he means "clicking on". Specifically, since a full, valid unsubscribe address is added as a "signature" to each message delivered through the list reflector for the various SuSE lists and since most email clients make apparent links (typically both http: and mail) in the message bodies active and clickable links, you can initiate sending of the requisite unsubscribe message by clicking on the appropriate address in the signature / footer of the message.
