[opensuse] How to keep SuSE from tagging a new MAC as a different interface

Using VM's, the MAC address of the fake-nic gets changed often, and SuSE changes what should be eth0 to eth37, or whatever. This means I have to continuously delete the old nic and configure the new one. I'd Like SuSE to just eth0 for whatever it sees, and just use the existing configuration. Any ideas?
