I have been with SuSE since kernel 2.2. I was invited to the closed beta testing program and have spent countless hours (all donated of course) helping to make SuSE what it is along with many many others. To watch something you've labored over for many many years be essentially sold out to the highest bidders is a hard pill to swallow. Another thought that may have escaped you is that not only was SuSE's reputation built by the quality of the developers but also buy "word of mouth". Don't dismiss out of hand the displeasure of long time clients and users. We do indeed have a stake in SuSE - if only in the academic sense. Word of mouth goes a long way (anyone that's taking a business 101 course know the impact client perception can have on a products market viability). FYI: If what most people fear in regards to the Novell/M$ deal are borne to be correct - expect a mass exodus from Novell/SuSE. My heart really goes out to those that are running farms (server and client). It's no small task converting from one distro to the other. As for your statement: "here we go again. please......... if you are going to leave, just leave." You do know how to use a filter???
