My environment is Gnome and Evolution 2.6.0. I searched the archive and found the config was under "~/.gconf/apps/evolution/addressbook". But I'm not smart enough to completely decipher the xml script in "%gconf.xml", which seems to contain the addressbook config.

I have just migrated my Evolution contacts to Kontact by saving them as Vcards, which Kontact can import. I assume you could do the same to move to another Evolution. The only snag was that I had to create each Vcard separately, there does not seem to be a bulk save.
