I used to be quite good with samba, but the fast evolution of the two last years may have been too fast for me;
I have samba perferctly running on my 10.1 workstation, but I can't achieve to make it work on my server. I have no file to share, but a printer.
The printer works perfectly as cups for a linux client, but I can't make it work for a XP client.
Running samba JUST to get printer support in XP is sort of like killing flys with a hammer. XP knows how to deal with cups servers. In Xp while defining the printer, set Network printer radio button on Connect to printer on internet or on home/office network (don't select search) In the URL field, enter http://susemachinename:631/printers/PrinterName (for susemachinename you can substitute the IP) (for PrinterName you put in the name you defined in Cups) -- _____________________________________ John Andersen
