I've a laptop with a SD card reader, which when I use "lspci" I can see is a 06:09.0 Cardbus bridge: Ricoh Co Ltd RL5c476 II (rev b3)
When I insert an SD card it is not mounted automatically. Should it be ? How can I mount it manually ?
Sorry, but this hardware is completely unsupported. There are no specs that could be used to build a driver. I have the same problem with my thinkpad here ...
In the meantime, there is a project that creates such a driver. You find the pages at http://mmc.drzeus.cx/wiki/Linux/Drivers/sdhci . This driver is not yet in the kernel, and I guess that there will be a special kernel module package needed to get support for this.
