All; Here's what I did to fix the issue. 1) compiled and ran the regionset utility and set my region to 1. I got the utility from the link below: http://sourceforge.net/projects/dvd/ 2) went to this page : http://cambuca.ldhs.cetuc.puc-rio.br/xine/ downloaded and installed the following: libdvdcss-1.2.8-2.network.i386.rpm libxine1-1.1.2cvs-060112.i586.rpm xine-ui-0.99.4cvs-051003.i586.rpm I had to remove xine-dev due to a conflict. Now my DVD movies work.
