Has anybody successfully upgraded SuSE 10.0 with MySQL5?
If so, which route did you take? Prebuilt RPM? Source? Any hints, please?
Noone? Really?
Did you try the packages from the factory?
http://ftp.opensuse.org/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-OSS-factory/inst -source/suse/
And to spare people waiting for the i586 directory listing to come through, here are the MySQL 5.0.16 links:
http://ftp.opensuse.org/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-OSS-factory/inst-source... http://ftp.opensuse.org/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-OSS-factory/inst-source... http://ftp.opensuse.org/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-OSS-factory/inst-source... http://ftp.opensuse.org/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-OSS-factory/inst-source... http://ftp.opensuse.org/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-OSS-factory/inst-source... http://ftp.opensuse.org/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-OSS-factory/inst-source... http://ftp.opensuse.org/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-OSS-factory/inst-source...
If you use the administrative and / or query GUIs, these might be newer than what you have now from the latest SuSE distribution(s):
http://ftp.opensuse.org/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-OSS-factory/inst-source... http://ftp.opensuse.org/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-OSS-factory/inst-source...
If they can't be installed directly (openssl for example has been upgraded in factory, that might present a dependency problem) the src.rpm can usually be rebuilt easily
http://ftp.opensuse.org/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-OSS-factory/inst-source... http://ftp.opensuse.org/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-OSS-factory/inst-source...
% rpm -qa |egrep openssl openssl-devel-0.9.7g-2.2 openssl-0.9.7g-2.2

Thanks! I've been trying to list that darn directory for 10 minutes... :( -- Anders Norrbring Norrbring Consulting
