Hi all,
I just purchased a Samsung Yepp YP-T7Z 1GB flash MSP/OGG player which I'm very happy with. Ahem...The tuner works great but I would like to get my ogg collection onto the player and I don't have windows at home.

So, from what I understand, the player should appear as a USB mass storage device with some folders inside for music, pictures, etc. to which I should be able to copy my music.
The problem is that when I connect the player to the USB hub on my SuSE 9.2 box (with all available updates), the machine cranks away for about ten seconds before it stops and then I click on "My Computer" where nothing shows up. This behavior is unlike my 64MB USB flash drive that I use which shows up perfectly and unlike my 60GB USB harddisk which also works fine in this system.
So, what's up? Anyone else seeing this behavior? Anyone else using a Samsung player with Linux?
Marc, I posted to the list approx. 1 month ago that I had the same unit and that it worked perfectly with SuSE 9.2. I just plugged it into the USB port and it was instantly recognized. Shows up in "my computer." If you don't see it try clicking on the "refresh" icon at the top of the Konqueror screen (the button with the counter-clockwise arrow). Sometimes I have to do that to get new items to appear. Then I just clicked on the drive icon (for me it's coming up as /dev/sde1), nd I did a drag and drop of my oggs into the Samsung. Kept copying ogg albums until drive said it was ful. (It accepted 15 albums!!) Plays great. Absolutely no "tweaking" needed. Oh, one other thing. Be certain that the mini USB connector at the Samsung is pushed in all the way -- until it "clicks." I did not realize the first time I tried that the plug was not fully seated. Hope this helps. I LOVE THIS SAMSUNG!! :o) Gil
