Learning SuSE and finding all the resources is already hard
enough. Why make it worse? If it already exists, why not
use it?

For one simple reason that the rss feed e.g. will than only containWhat? How is http://wiki.linuxquestions.org/wiki/SuSE not about
updates dedicated to suse. The url is easy to remember to:
SuSE?
