This may not be the best way but it works flawless for me.

Ken, this defeats the security practices at all. The next step will be - why I need to use another user with restricted rights, log in as root and do whatever you need.
As far as there is a way to make the program run as intended, leave root rights for only administrative purposes.

Are you now telling me how to run my home pc? How many times in the last year have people been complaining about -not- being able to use their CD/DVD burner? I only offered a sensible solution until the problem gets fixed. If you have a permanent solution offer it instead of telling people how to configure/run their home PC! And yes I know about security in the business world and would never allow this at a place of business but we are talking about home users. The bulls**t you see on this list that "it works in windows" only shows that there is much more work to be done before the average joe home user starts switcher over to linux without having problems. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989 SuSE since 1998 * Only reply to the list please*
