Hello SuSE People,
Running 9.2 on a Athlon 64 bit. Two days ago I did an upgrade of KDE to 3.3.2a via apt. Broke my system sounds. Bob, You should have checked the mail list archives, you would have found this item covered already. It seems that the new arts is broken and a simple recompile of the SuSE's src.rpm on your system will cure all ills! Worked for several of us on the list here already.
-----------Snip------------------ Actually re-compiling didn't work for me, from suse source rpm or arts download site. Just alot of time spent followed by error messages and incomplete builds. The messages about reverting to previous rpms finally got me interested enough to find a site that I could grab the 3.3.1 rpms from (unfortunately I had just recently emptied my /var/cache/apt/archive directory). Works now, when the next upgrade comes out I'll try it, enough time wasted on this version See ya -- dh Don't shop at ZipZoomFly.com!
