Could somebody give me some help in recognizing a USB serial connection. I am using 9.1 and KDE 3.3.
here lsusb says mine is "prolific Technology, Inc. PL2303 Serial Port" and modules usbserial and pl2303 loaded. I haven't tried it hotplugged, so if that doesn't work, try booting with it plugged and see if it works. Regards
Dear Sid. Thanks for the info. Did a restart and have since then following info with lsusb: Bus 001 Device 006: ID 08dd:8001 Billionton Systems, Inc. Bus 001 Device 005: ID 067b:2303 Prolific Technology, Inc. PL2303 Serial Port Bus 001 Device 004: ID 03eb:3301 Atmel Corp. 4-port Hub Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 No further info. I know that I have four way hub where my card reader and the serial cable are connected to. Think the hub is the Atmel, The Billionton is the cardreader so that leaves the serial cable also as Prolific Techn. Do not get any information that modules usbserial and pl2303 are loaded. Did I miss something? usbmodules gave PL2303 though. And where and how to mount them?
