I just plug it in and forget about it. No need to configure in YaST at all. In fact you will disable all sound if you try. You may need to unplug and plug in after you have logged into KDE, don't know about Gnome.
One more thing I just remembered -DO NOT- use a non powered USB hub or you will have lots of problems. Either plug directly into a usb port or use a powered hub.
Thanks Ken, pluging in after KDE startup have done the trick. But now ... I still can not see the card in yast, and I do not have volume control and mixer. So how do I enable the volume control and the mixer?
You won't see it in YaST as you don't configure it with YaST. It gets setup through hot-plug. Start kmix after you have it plugged in. You will need to show the mixer window in order to adjust the limited controls available.
Ok, I got the mixer, so I have sound. The weird thing is, that if I enable the onboard sound as well, then whatever I do in kmix (i tried also kamix) I can not make the usb device to produce sound. This is not such a pain, as I do not need the onboard one, but still ... The other issue is, that I can not make the mic to work. I enabled it in the mixer, but no recording yet. Any clue?
PLEASE do not reply to me -and- the list I get a copy from the list and don't need two copies of your reply.
Sorry for that. It was written in the FAQ that I should act that way. And ... the problem is that gmail does not have "Replay to list", only "Replay" - this is for the sender, and "Replay to all" then it makes a copy for the list as well. But you got 2 of them :) Ok, one way or another, I'l copy/paste so I post only to the list, hoping you are not going to unsubscribe :) Cheers Sunny -- Get Firefox http://www.spreadfirefox.com/?q=affiliates&id=10745&t=85
