You might want to hold off on these 6.8 rpms as they are still only beta and not final. X.org did release a 6.8, but stopped it due to many bugs/problems, so it might be advisable to delay an update to these. Don't understand why SuSE released them really.
What could be the interest for a final user like me (just using my desktop) to perform such an upgrade? If I understood it well, I am using the default SuSE 9.1 version: 6.6.

Patrick, I suggest to not upgrade unless you know for sure what is it that you are upgrading for. This is after I have upgraded and found a number of issues. :(. Osho
