Hi All,
Why is it that I have now updated to this kernel and still cannot burn CDs. BTW, I have a Combo Drive. Since I installed SuSE 9.0 now 9.1, I have not been able to burn CDs. I had Mandrake on my machine for awhile and I have no problems.
Thanks,

Steve, Ok, if you have not ever been able to burn cds, then it's very likely that your problem doesn't pertain to a kernel, wouldn't you think? Sounds as if you never got k3b setup correctly or your drive. Now the combo drives are usually more problematic and I think most of us agree, it's a good idea to stay away from them, if possible. Problem is that most laptops come standard with them. They do work, don't misunderstand me, but may take a bit more tinkering with links or fstab settings than normal single function drives. I think one of the problems you may run in too is that the OS just doesn't quite know how to interpret the drive type, so goes the safe route and sets it as a reader only. You need to look elsewhere for your problem though, it's not the kernel. Lee
